I originally met the Lewis family Christmas of 2019 and at that time they were only a family of 4. I have been blessed to have grown right along with their family and have documented many of their major milestones. So I was definitely excited when Chelawnta called me to let me know that she was expecting again and that they wanted to really celebrate as this would be their last baby. And boy did we celebrate! We started off with a fun gender reveal in studio. And you guessed right…
So that meant they would be at a beautiful even number….2 girls and 2 boys. I think that’s a great way to finalize your family. One thing I noticed about Chelawnta during this pregnancy that she was more at peace this time around than she was with her last baby. And you could see her growth from dealing with postpartum depression. But what always stuck with me was her husband, Brent’s way of always assuring her and allowing her to be comfortable with who she was becoming. When I tell you it’s a beautiful thing to watch couples who are not threatened by the other person’s individuality. But, I digress, we planned and talked about what she wanted for their maternity session. And Chelawnta is a big fan of earth tones and wanted this session to be focused on their family and their newest little life.
I finally got the call in February that the newest member of the family had made his entrance. Baby Boy Brayden had arrived and was healthy and Chelawnta was ready to get there session on the calendar. The day of the session, she text me frazzled and just wanting to do the baby’s pictures and I reassured her that she would want to get the family involved as well, because since this was the last baby, there were no do overs. Their session was laid back and they just wanted to do blue and white. And well…you can see for yourself how it went.
